Yorkshire brewery Black Sheep approached Angram in 2009 to develop their new cask ale pump - ensuring their Best Bitter continues to stand out in pubs across the country. Other brewers followed in their footsteps with illuminating their brands.

preliminary design

Angram was approached in 2013 to develop a new cask ale pump for Black Sheep's Best Bitter. This beer pump was designed to serve high quality real ale in a perfect pint and to catch the eye of the consumer.

The internal structure of the beer tower is made of stainless steel and is designed to facilitate the beer flow without unnecessary splashback. The beer tap is able to cleverly control the pressure to dispense the ideal foam quantity and consistency.

The Result

Key to the definition and reinforcement of the Black Sheep proposition there was a requirement to develop a font proposition for the new keg version of Black Sheep Bitter.
This design execution built on the aesthetic of the Cask Beer Engine and redefined as a contemporary keg proposition.
The new keg font was rolled out across premium sites in the Black Sheep estate which proved to be highly successful.
